As many of you know, Dr. Nina Hartman will be having a baby this month (our office staff pictured above celebrating baby Hartman!). We are thrilled for Dr. Hartman and her husband, and we want to assure her patients that there will be no lapse in care during her absence. While Dr. Hartman is on maternity leave, we will have Dr. Lauren Payne available to treat all patients with medical dermatology concerns.
Dr. Payne received her medical doctorate from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, where she graduated Alpha Omega Alpha, and went on to complete her medical internship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and dermatology residency training at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. She is currently a clinical assistant professor at both George Washington University School of Medicine and Howard University Hospital. Dr. Payne’s dermatology interests include medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, with special training focused on skin of color. She has also been published in several medical journals and book chapters and presented at the National American Academy of Dermatology Conference. Dr. Payne is chairperson to the Board of Directors of Comprehensive Medical Mentoring Program, a national non-profit organization geared towards mentoring and providing support for minority students interested in pursuing careers in medicine and healthcare. When she’s not working, Dr. Payne enjoys staying active and spending time with her family and friends.
We are so pleased to have Dr. Payne here while Dr. Hartman spends time with her new baby. Please let us know if you have any questions or would like to schedule with Dr. Payne.
